Our Story

When my husband and I found out we were pregnant with Zoe, we did all the things type A parents do to prepare for our little one’s arrival. We spent weeks painstakingly researching what felt like every bottle, pacifier and baby monitor ever made in order to create the best baby registry possible. I spent months on pinterest searching endless variations of “farmhouse nursery décor” in order to get the inspiration needed to design the perfect nursery. My husband poured over the book “Twelve Hours’ Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old” by Suzy Giordano in preparation for the baby boot camp he was sure to put our little one through when she arrived.

We were overjoyed when our Zoe finally made her debut and we were able to take her home to the peaceful and cozy nursery we created. So you can imagine my dismay when several weeks later, we started to notice Zoe was developing a little bald spot in the back of her head. At first we didn’t think much of it, remembering having read somewhere that babies sometimes go through a phase where they lose a little bit of their hair. But as time went on the bald spot slowly grew. It seemed like her hair was taking forever to come back. Eventually, I started realizing little baby hair fibers stuck on the beautiful cotton sheets that I had in Zoe’s crib. I also noticed them in her bassinet we used to have her sleep in, before moving her to the crib. It was at that point I realized that something as seemingly small as crib sheets were contributing to the problem.

When I told my sister about the issue, she gave me the inspiration to search for satin fitted crib sheets as a way to protect my Zoe’s hair. I was able to find some satin fitted crib sheets on the market, but none that would nicely blend into the serene nursery I spent so much time decorating. The satin fitted sheet options available were mostly loud colors like dark gray, hot pink, or electric blue, and they all seemed to be made by obscure companies, as opposed to caring brands that I felt I could trust. And so, CutieCozy was born; created to fill a need that I felt was overlooked: the need for quality constructed satin fitted crib sheets that would protect my baby’s delicate hair and skin, while seamlessly fitting into the décor of any beautifully designed nursery. Our sheets have been thoroughly tested for quality and safety by third party testing facilities and, more importantly, my precious Zoe. We hope you enjoy what we have spent months creating with you in mind!
